At Lunaria we have always loved photography. We have photographed all sorts of stuff; live performances, studio shots, even aerial views of construction sites. If you have an upcoming photographic project that you think we can help you with please give us a call.

Alternatively it may be that the images you need are already out there and it’s just a case of recognising what they are and where to find them. We can help there to. We have considerable experience picture editing and can help you source the right images for your project.

Either way we would be happy to discuss which is the most appropriate solution for your needs.

Logo and identity

Whether you are a business or a not for profit organisation it’s an increasingly competitive market out there. You need to inspire trust, reliability and familiarity and you need to get noticed. You need to speak directly to your target audience. But how?

It won’t come as a surprise to learn that there isn’t a single, simple answer but creating a clean and memorable logo will certainly provide a good starting point and help to get you and your organisation noticed.

We have helped lots of businesses, events and not for profit organisations start the process of building their brand, if you think we could help you do the same please feel free to give us a call.

Web design and hosting

Lunaria can design, build, maintain and host your website.

We run our own web server, allowing us to offer the “full package” web site and email hosting, domain name registration and of course design and build.

If you are interested in creating a brand new web site or if your existing web presence just needs an update feel free to give us a call. We will be happy to chat through your requirements, offer advice and provide a no obligation quote.

Infographics and Icons

There are times when you may need to communicate a concept which you fully understand but are struggling to put into words. Similarly you may have figure or a data set that would make more sense presented in a graphical form. Possibly you just need to add some visual impact to your next presentation or report.

If so creating a set of infographics (graphs, maps, icons, schematics, and navigational prompts for example) can provide an efficient visually appealing way to present your ideas.

Please give us a call if you think this an approach that would benefit you and your organisation.

Exhibition Design

There comes a time in the life of most organisations when someone, possibly you, will have to stand up and present your thoughts, proposals, information or products to a large and/or important audience. Whether you have to promote a show or launch a new product having the right tools for the job can make all the difference.

You may have a specific requirement for full sized exhibition stand but equally a simple (and inexpensive) pull up banner may the appropriate method of keeping your message in full view.

Either way we have the experience and the resources to deliver exhibition systems tailored to your needs and your budget.

Kevin Creechan, President of Print Scotland

Kevin Creechan, President of Print Scotland Print Scotland, the new name of Scotland’s leading trade association for the printing industry, is set on a new path of recruiting as many as possible of Scotland’s printing businesses into a refreshed, invigorated trade body.

Print Scotland aims to give a more powerful voice to the industry and will also offer members a series of business benefits which will improve their operations and save costs. The organisation was previously known as Graphic Enterprise Scotland and before that, the Scottish Printer Employers Federation (SPEF).

Kevin Creechan, President of Print Scotland said:

“Our new brand makes it very clear what we do. We are a body which is focussed on representing the print community in Scotland.

“While the printing sector has undoubted challenges: the high level of capital investment required to stay competitive, digital media and a degree of over-capacity, we believe that the collective benefits we will be able to bring to Print Scotland members should swell our membership numbers and give us a stronger voice.

“These benefits include an exclusive, official courier agreement and the availability of close HR support to keep members compliant with all existing and forthcoming legislative matters as they impact on our industry.

“With further benefits lined up to members in respect of both finance and insurance cover, we believe our offering will also appeal to the many small and new-start businesses, particularly in the digital, packaging and wide-format printing disciplines which have emerged in recent years.

“We are also examining collective deals which not only benefit the member companies but all employees of those companies.”

Garry Richmond, Director, Print Scotland adds: “As a re-energised trade body we will also be looking closely at public sector procurement strategies to ensure that Scottish printers are not excluded unnecessarily from providing a service. Our message to them is that the capacity to provide excellent quality at sensible prices is on their doorsteps.

“Greater membership numbers gives us the capacity to sell consistently the values of the printed product to all members of the community throughout Scotland resulting in increased business opportunities for our members.”

Membership of Print Scotland is open to all businesses, directly or indirectly involved in the sector.

Scotland’s printing sector employs 6,000 people, and has been a powerhouse of Scottish industry, with participants ranging from small-scale digital businesses, to whisky label printers, commercial colour printers and on to the country’s newspapers and thriving book printing industries. But experts say the industry will face a succession gap as soon as 2030.

Print Scotland, the trade association and voice of Scotland’s graphic communication industry, is looking to plug that gap with the provision of modern apprenticeship opportunities for members – those in the manufacturing side of the print industry – and associate members – which supply the manufacturers.

Garry Richmond, who was appointed Print Scotland Director last year, said:

“With all the changes in technology, print has been seen as something of a sunset industry. But nothing could be further from the truth. Print is just another communication platform and a highly effective one, and we aim to help our members with apprentice recruitment, a cogent voice in the corridors of power, genuine cost saving benefits, professional guidance on compliance with legislation and much more.”

Print Scotland has seen new members signing up in unprecedented numbers for recent times since Garry launched its recruitment campaign last year; from international giant Kodak, one of its largest associate members, to Glasgow-based PR Print, said to be the most environmentally astute business in the print industry, and which boasts that it delivers printing solutions without the carbon footprint.

Other new members include Inchinnan-based ACA Print Finishing and Packaging Solutions, Scotland’s largest print finishing company, which provides high end finishing processes to print products including foiling, varnishing and book binding, and last year underwent a change of ownership.

Garry said:

“We have arrested the fall in print-related business member numbers, and are looking forward now to enrolling more members, representing their interests at the highest levels of government decision-making, and placing greater numbers of Modern Apprentices with our members.

“Our apprenticeship opportunity programmes are open to non-members, but we are encouraging everyone in Scotland’s graphic communication industry to board the Print Scotland train, and let our community of experts speak with one voice.”

New members of Print Scotland include International Finishing Systems (IFS) which provides bespoke finishing equipment to the industry, Glasgow-based digital operators Push Print, Greenock’s digital and wide-format specialists Love & Humphrey’s, Matic Media of Coatbridge, and Multiprint in Kirkcaldy.
