About

Print employers in Scotland have been organised as a Federation since 1910 and our centenary in 2010 was marked by the publishing of a book of its history.

Throughout the last 100 years the Federation has had several names and the current one reflects the changing nature of print communications, driven by technological developments such as internet web and digital printing.

Members are offered services such as labour and employment law advice, the management of the Scottish Training Scheme for modern apprenticeships, health and safety audits and advice on environmental and quality accreditation.  Services also include small business advice covering such topics as cash management, market segmentation and key account management and cost rate assessment.

Print Scotland represent the members interests with Unite the Union.

In relation to this proposal, we assist and encourage our members with manpower planning especially at the apprenticeship level and particularly in maintaining and developing skills within the industry that reflect technological change.

What we do

  • Financial support for training eg. Modern Apprenticeships through the Scottish Training Scheme, exclusively administered by Print Scotland as an Approved Centre by the Scottish Qualifications Agency.
  • Annual Negotiation of the National Agreement in Scotland with Unite, the union, where appropriate.
